"That's How Strong My Love Is"

What a joyful day we experienced with Mike, Oksana and their children! Their wedding was the joining of two loving parents and three beautiful children... one of the most spiritual weddings we have had the privilege in which to assist. The powerful feelings that swept through this wedding day will not soon be forgotten!

The beautiful, talented and infinitely patient Oksana, saw to the three children being as beautifully groomed as possible, putting her own preparations to the last minute in the process. She was such a natural beauty, it mattered very little that she was a bit rushed. Her beauty, both inside and out shined through... she was radiant and absolutely adored by both the children and the groom. Don't we all appreciate the parents whose children are so well-cared for that they are a tad worn on the edges? That in itself it a rare sort of beauty.

This intimate wedding started off in a beautiful Tuscan-style setting on the vineyards in the late afternoon. We received all with a nice spread of cheeses and kid-friendly munchies, as well as wine and sparkling cider for the children (served in wine glasses, of course). Violinist Clare, provided sweet romantic melodies, with the traditional Pachebel's Canon for the bride's processional. Oksana was walked down the aisle by two very handsome boys and delivered right to their father. They seemed very excited to give her to dad!

After a bit of picture-taking post-ceremony, all were whisked away by limo to an elegant winery setting up valley. Hors d'oeuvres, wine (and more sparkling juice) were enjoyed in the winery's sensory garden, full of herbs and edible flowers. As the cool Carneros breeze began to settle in, we brought guests into the wine library for a custom dinner prepared by the winery's private chef. The family had three beautiful wood-paneled rooms all to themselves, as well as a lovely candle-lit patio with cabanas. The adults could enjoy an indulgent dining experience and world-class wines while the kids had room to spread out and explore within a safe distance of their parents.

Despite the tiny size of this wedding, we did not skip the traditional cake cutting and first dance. After dinner, everyone relaxed with coffee, wedding cake and a bit of port on the terrace, under the stars. A beautiful and joyful day from start to finish!
